Boreham Wood’s Under 18s continued their winning run in the Southern Counties Floodlit League, with a 2-0 win over Leverstock Green.

Cameron Mawer’s side were without Cheyce Grant, Archie Pepper, Alex Morgan and Iliman Ndiaye, who are all away with England Colleges at the Roma Caput Mundi Tournament.

Despite the absences, the young Wood began brightly and Charlie Wickham opened the scoring in the 22nd minute. The ball had dropped sweetly for him from a corner and he coolly struck it home with his right foot.

Mawer’s side continued to impress, but Leverstock held them at bay, with some strong defending. However, with just minutes of the second half remaining, Theo Costa would double his team’s lead, blasting home from the spot.
