Boreham Wood Football Club will be doing their part for Sports Relief 2018, as they join BBC Three Counties in their Pedal Power Challenge today.
Through his connections with Arsenal, Boreham Wood chairman Danny Hunter has generously donated a signed Arsenal football – complete with glass presentation case and an authenticity certificate – to the Sports Relief cause. On top of that, key Wood defender Danny Woodards will be personally going to Milton Keynes to donate the signed memorabilia.
Boreham Wood Football Club will be there to support Three Counties Radio presenter Andy Collins, who will be attempting to generate the same amount of power that is normally needed to keep the station on-air.
The challenge is being completed in order to raise money for Sports Relief, and Woodards will be taking the presentation case, football and signed certificate with him to Milton Keynes, where he will cheer on Three Counties presenter Collins, in his attempt.
For those who don’t know, the challenge is taking place inside of the Intu Milton Keynes shopping centre today, until 7pm. Mr Collins will need all the support he can get, so if you would like to get involved, then get down to MK and cheer him on.
BWFC’s Chairman Danny Hunter hopes that the BWFC’s contribution will help Collins’ very worthy cause, and that he can complete this impressive effort.
Hunter said: “Three Counties are showing everybody, that they care about more than just a broadcast and a viewing figure, and we love that. We share that belief, as a small club who’s somehow managed to get to the top table of non-league football. So, we just wanted to support something that’s honest, selfless and worth supporting – well done all at three counties radio.”
