Boreham Wood Football Club can announce that Sam Cox’s contract has now expired and after deliberation, the club will not be offering an extension for next season and as such Sam is now a free agent.

Sam played 145 games in his two spells at the club, scoring 4 goals and was an instrumental player for us especially in our memorable promotion year from Conference South..

Chairman Danny Hunter said “Sam has been a great servant for our football club, especially in the Conference South and I do genuinely wish him well. This season Sam has had ankle and head injuries to contend with and that has in reality made it a stop start season for Sam.. That said he still gave us everything in the twenty games that he did play at National League level and that’s what you will always get from Sam and why the fans love him”..

“Things do become difficult at times in relegation battles and it’s well documented that the player and club disagreed on certain things. But that’s water under the bridge, you cannot continue to live in the past, you have to look forward and I will always choose to remember Sam, in our great cup runs and of course the never to be forgotten play off win”..

“Those memories of the little man, cannot ever be erased from my mind, from our supporters mind and from Sam’s mind. I’m sure Sam will carry on enjoying a great career and trust me he will not be short of takers for his services next season”.. Hunter concluded..

GOOD LUCK COXY FROM US ALL AT BWFC..
