Boreham Wood Football Club are pleased to announce their pre season friendly fixtures for 2011.

On Saturday, 9th July Boreham Wood will play their opening pre season game at Home against Watford Football Club. This fixture is an annually played game where the Hornets field a full strength squad. After the 2010/2011 season Watford finished a credible 14th position in the Npower Championship, boasting a record of fielding an amazing 21 home grown talents throughout the campaign including local Borehamwood boy Lee Hodson, 19. This season it is likely to witness Championship top scorer Danny Graham, England Under 21 goalkeeper Scott Loach and experienced John Eustace at Meadow Park, just to name a few.

Dagenham & Redbridge will then visit Boreham Wood the following Tuesday, 12th July. After relegation the Daggers will be looking to bounce straight back into Npower League One in emphatic style. A promising game will be in store with John Still’s men wanting to get off to an explosive start and prepare well for the new campaign targeting promotion.

An array of prestigious friendly fixtures is topped off on Friday, 29th July when an Arsenal X1 comes to Boreham Wood. Over the years seasons this fixture has hosted football greats such as Tony Adams, Ray Parlour, Robin Van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Antonio Reyes, Robert Pires and many more… More recently the younger generation of Arsenal stars have played at Meadow Park with a host of English, Dutch, Brazilian, French and Spanish youth internationals showing off their magnificent technical ability.

50% of all proceeds made from the Arsenal X1 game will go to our main sponsor Cardif Pinnacle’s charity, The Peace Hospice, so not only come to support and watch the Boreham Wood boys but also support the great work The Peace Hospice does around our local community.

It provides inpatient care, day care, an outpatient service, a hospice at home service as well as bereavement support.
