Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to confirm that, as expected, Keiran Murtagh has successfully won the appeal against his red card.

The midfielder was sent-off during the match against Sutton United on Boxing Day, with the club opting to claim for wrongful dismissal.

With Sutton’s Craig Eastmond through on goal, Murtagh had charged back to make a goal-saving challenge, however, the referee pointed to the spot and gave the midfielder his marching orders.

After supplying video evidence, The FA panel agreed that Murtagh should not have been given a red card.

Following this news, Murtagh will now be available to feature in Saturday’s game against Torquay United.
