This Saturday Wood make one of the stand out trips of their season with a visit to the historic Racecourse Ground to face the Red Devils. When the two sides met for the first ever time back in September 2015 it was Connor Jennings who scored the only goal of the game to send Wood into the bottom four, whilst lifting his side to 3rd in the table just five points off the summit. That day Joe Devera made his Wood debut, the ex Portsmouth player going on to form part of one of the meanest defences in the League.

What a difference 16 months can make as it is the Wood that currently sit higher in the table than their Welsh counterparts. The Wood still boast the second meanest defence in the league only bettered by Tranmere Rovers, and sit 2 places and 3 points better off than Wrexham, having played a game less. For Boreham Wood to be sitting above a league giant like Wrexham tells you just what a remarkable job everyone is doing from the Chairman down to the Management team, players, staff and supporters.

That said Wrexham are enjoying a fine run at present, and possibly their best of the season so far. After sacking Gary Mills and replacing him with Dean Keates who knows the club inside out having made over 150 appearances for the Red Dragons steadied the ship as they now begin climb the league.

The Wood will go into Saturdays game undefeated in three matches and having lost all three previous games to Wrexham will be wanting to bring that run to a halt.

Despite having the second meanest defence the Woods goal scoring record is currently the 4th worst in the division and Luke Garrard has looked to add goals to his squad by bringing in Tom Hitchcock, who has plenty of Football league experience after spells with QPR, MK Dons, and Rotherham to take the burden off top scorer Morgan Ferrier.
