Wood welcome FA Cup hero’s Lincoln City to Meadow Park this coming Saturday for a place in the Semi-final of the FA Trophy.

Wood last reached this stage of the competition way back in 2005-2006 where a 1-0 victory over Worksop Town was enough to put the Wood into the Semi-Finals for the first time in the clubs history.

Despite recent struggles in the league Wood have managed to turn it on in the FA Trophy and thumped Sutton United in the previous round 5-0 after an initial 0-0 at Gander Green Lane.

Lincoln are competing on three fronts, The National League, Quarter Final of the FA Cup and Quarter Final of the league cup.

In form City you would think be focusing on a return to the Football League where they have spent the majority of their history. A victory for the Imps would see a further two weekend postponements that I’m sure will please the chasing pack in the race for the title.

This is their sixth season at this level, their longest ever spell outside the top four divisions, in which time they have never managed to finish higher than 14th. This just shows the remarkable job the Cowley’s are doing at Lincoln.

After being forced to put out a weakened side at Tranmere on Tuesday evening, due to players unable to get the required time off with just 7 days notice, Luke Garrard will have those players back in contention and give him a selection headache ahead of the game.

This is a big game for the Wood and so we urge the local people to come out and get behind the club. Adults/OAP can also pick up your 2017/18 Season Ticket from the club shop for just £100.00
