This Saturday we welcome Tonbridge Angels to Meadow Park for what is simply a must win game for both sides!

The relegation battle both sides find themselves in is hotting up with ten teams far from safe. With the recent inclement weather resulting in some sides having played ten games more than others, this contest is going right to the wire.

Looking at the current form guide, it shows that everybody’s favourite for the drop Dorchester Town are leading the way along with the top two sides, picking up nine points out of a possible twelve. That resurgence has lifted them back into the mix, giving the rest of the group a mighty scare.

The current basement performers are Hayes And Yeading United, whose run of six straight defeats transforming them from promotion challengers to relegation candidates.

Our visitors currently occupy the last relegation berth, but expect that to change by the week as the season splutters to a climax. The precarious position we find ourselves in can be highlighted by the fact have collected just one point more than the Angels, yet they have two games in hand over us!

They have collected just four points from the last four games, compared to our five. However three of those were over second placed Eastleigh completing the double over the Hampshire big spenders.

The Angels last outing saw them taste the sting in Dorchester’s tail, losing 1-2 on home soil in the very last minute of the game to the side who are no longer bottom!

We failed to make the man advantage count last week away at Bromley, which was preceded by two draws. That return of points has seen our fortunes take a turn for the worst in a league where anybody can beat anybody on their day.

With two wins and six draws at home so far this season the statistics lay bare where the problems lie.

“ We need to improve with our final ball into danger and the points will come, “ reassured Ian Allinson.

With Junior Morias and Kudos Oyenuga both looking for their first goals in a Wood shirt, our current leading scorer Graeme Montgomery (who only does Worldies!) can hopefully show them the way!

Boreham Wood v Tonbridge Angels, Saturday March 1st, kick off 3pm.
