Wood return to Meadow Park this coming Monday when the visitors are Basingstoke Town.    At the time of writing The Terrors have a 100% record after two games.

Their opener against recently turned full time Eastleigh resulted in a 0 – 2 victory with Delano Sam-Yorke claiming a brace.

They followed this up in emphatic style hammering Weston-super-Mare 4 – 1 at The Camrose.

Ex-Leeds United legend and long serving Terrors Manager Frank Gray has accomplished a couple of “marquee signings” for this Season.

Ashley Bayes, who played second fiddle for three Seasons at Stevenage, can be considered one of the best ‘keepers in this Division.    He twice won the F.A. Carlsberg Trophy whilst at Grays Athletic, on one occasion saving the vital penalty that gave them victory over Hucknall Town.    Bayes, 39,  is now a Coach at Aldershot Town, from where striker Tim Sills arrives.    Sills hit the back of net on thirty-four occasions whilst at Torquay United and was emphatic in his first spell at Aldershot hitting 43 goals in 93 appearances.

This game also marks the annual return of ex-Woodite Wes Daly, who is another close Season signing for the visitors.    Wes is easily recognisable in a vast array of outfits having turned out for Bromley last Season having left Meadow Park in October 2009.

Wood have struggled with injuries in their first two outings and it is hoped that talismanic Team Captain Mario Noto will be fully fit for this game to bring some much needed stability to proceedings.

Boreham Wood versus Basingstoke Town, Monday 22nd August, kick off 7.45pm.
