Team News

Six new faces featured in Tuesday night’s clash with Haringey Borough, and all six will be hoping to double their appearance tally against Biggleswade.

There are no fresh injury concerns going into the fixture, but Luke Garrard could look to alter his side with substitute’s Kane Smith, Shaun Jeffers, Quba Gordon, Bradley Sach and Frank Keita all impressing.

Dean Wells will again miss the match as a precaution, following a slight knock in training.

Keita netted in the 81st minute against Haringey and will be hoping to see more matchtime on Saturday.

Form Guide

Garrard’s men looked in fine shape during their first pre-season outing and will be hoping to kick it up a gear against the stronger outfit of Biggleswade.

Terry Harris appeared at ease during his first outing in the dugout, while Cameron Mawer, who has been promoted to first-team coach, settled into his new role equally well.

The old guard looked in strong shape as they helped their new teammates settle into their new surroundings, with Ricky Shakes blasting in a powerful header to open the scoring.

Managed by Chris Nunn, Biggleswade play in the Evo-Stick Southern League and will provide a step up in quality from Haringey as Garrard’s men look to continue their pre-season preparations.

From the Dugout – Luke Garrard

“I actually spoke to Chris Nunn this morning, we spoke at length about each other’s plans for next season and I imagine that they will be looking to mount a play-off charge.

“It is definitely going to be a tougher test and a step-up in quality and the boys know that, but again, it is about improving fitness. We will fine tune all the little bits later in pre-season.

“We are going to stick with the same system again, we were working on it at length today and I am already seeing vast improvements from last week.

“I am hoping that they can implement that come Saturday and that they can deliver what I am asking of them and if they do that then I will be very happy.”
