The Wood this week have two big homes starting on Tuesday evening when Chris Kinnear brings his play off chasing Dover Athletic side to Meadow Park. That is followed on Saturday by one of the form sides in the division Guiseley.

Due to Tranmere’s involvement in the FA Trophy, Dover were left without a game on Saturday and so will no doubt come into Tuesdays game fresh and raring to go. With Gateshead currently on fire their fantastic run and win over Wrexham on the weekend has seen them take that final play off spot, with Dover dropping out. Although the Whites do still have a game in hand on Gateshead.

Guiseley meanwhile are themselves on a fantastic run of form which has seen them lift themselves to within a point of the Wood and clear of relegation. Adam Lockwood since taking charge took a while to get going but once his team were playing as he wanted as we ourselves saw at Nethermoor are a side that can beat anyone on their day.

The Wood last season got home victories against both sides which were so pivitol in our survival. Wood brushed aside a Dover Athletic side 3-0 on the day which was a massive result, but not as important as the Wood’s final home league game of the season. A win was a necessity if we were to have any chance of remaining in the league. It was a very nervy 90 minutes however the players held their nerve to get the win which gave the club the momentum to do what was required at Welling on the final day of the season.

That I think shows just how far the club has come in the space of a year – sitting currently in 14th spot, but hopefully with a good end to the season that can be top 12.

Please do come down and support the Wood and pick up your BARGAIN priced season ticket, priced at just £199 – however if you introduce a friend you can both have a season ticket for £100.00 each.
