LEE ANGOL NLP

Boreham Wood FC are absolutely delighted to announce that our young talismanic striker Lee Angol. Who it must be remembered was unearthed by our manager Ian Allinson after watching him play in a  Wycombe Wanderers development squad. Has now won the very prestigious, Non league Paper’s Young Player of the year award..

20 Year old Angol, spent the latter part of last season on loan with us here at ‘the Wood’.. Lee was then released by Wycombe at the conclusion of the 2013/14 season but wasn’t a free agent for long, as Boreham Wood Chairman Danny Hunter, moved quickly to agree a deal with Lee and Luton Towns manager John Still regarding the talented Strikers signature.

Wood manager Ian Alinson always believed that Lee could be the difference between a good season and a great season and how right he was. That piece of business and the subsequent signing of his partner in crime and best friend Junior Morias, was according to our gaffer “the jigsaw piece that was pivotal to the historic season we’ve had in gaining promotion to the Conference National League”..

For the record Lee Angol netted 24 league goals in 39 league games and another 6 Goals in all cup competitions. However to then follow that up with two further goals in the play-offs, including the opener in the promotion final, simply made it a season never to forget..

Everyone at Boreham Wood Football Club would like to congratulate Lee on this fantastic achievement.
