Wednesday’s Floodlit fixture at Oxhey Jets produced a great game for the neutrals but a frustrating one for the supporters of Boreham Wood U18’s Nemean side.

Some lethargic looking passing saw Wood go behind as early as the 2nd minute. Keeper Jake Wilton had his attempted clearance charged down by the centre forward and the block ended up straight in the back of the net.

It took until around the 35th minute before Wood put together their first real good passage of play. Good work down the left hand side saw Hayes Thomas deliver an excellent cross for Dean Rubinia to meet perfectly in the box and head home for 1-1.

Wood got of to a good start after the break but still went behind and had to equalise for a second time when Ashley Talbot headed in from a corner.

Wood finally went ahead through Rubinia after Oxhey had gone down to ten men but with final time approaching Oxhey denied them victory. A back post delivery from a corner found the centre forward unmarked to equalise, and although Luke Lane went close just after that Wood ran out of time.
