Boreham Wood are pleased to confirm that the FA Cup First Round clash against Blackpool, will take place on Saturday, November 4 (3pm).

The fixture has also been selected by the BBC for extended highlights.

The Wood have been drawn at home and are delighted to welcome the world-famous Tangerines, who were recently in the Premier League, and won the famous 1953 FA Cup final.

The match personifies the magic of the FA Cup, as a typical David versus Goliath tie. It is also apt reward for manager Luke Garrard, and his players, having knocked out our biggest local rivals St Albans 3-1 last Saturday.

PLEASE NOTE, THE MATCH WILL NOT BE AN ALL TICKET FIXTURE, BUT WILL BE SEGREGATED.

Tickets for the match will be available to purchase in the Gallery Suite from Monday-to-Friday, 10am-6pm, and on home match days.

Pre-purchased tickets are being made available for those who wish to avoid potentially long, match day queues. PLEASE NOTE; home supporters who pre-purchase their tickets, will have their own designated, home ticket only gate, on the day.

Unfortunately, all tickets purchased prior to the game are only available to those who can come to the club in person. PLEASE NOTE; We will not operate our normal online box office, as this will save supporters the administration fee, that may well be appreciated.

Boreham Wood confirmed ticket prices earlier in the week for the fixture.

Entry prices for our home FA Cup fixture has been agreed at:

Adults – £20.00, to sit or stand.

OAP’s – £15.00, to sit or stand

Did you know?

Blackpool famously won the FA Cup in 1953, thanks to a match winning performance from the legendary Sir Stanley Mathews.

Managed by Gary Bowyer, the Tangerines currently sit in 7th place in Division One of the Football League, with 22 points.

Blackpool’s star striker is none other than local lad Kyle Vassell. Kyle grew up in Mill Hill, and played most of his early football in our youth set up, for six years – Welcome home Kyle.

In our 70th year, could this be the first time in the club’s history that we beat a professional club?

Is this the time that we announce ourselves nationally as one of the top non-league sides in the country?

In truth, who knows what awaits both Luke and the dressing room, but we’re going to need you to come down, sing yourselves hoarse and really get behind us on the day.

If you can do that, we promise you that we’ll give it everything we’ve got to give you, give this town and give all our fans a day to remember.

DON’T YOU JUST LOVE AN UNDERDOG AND THE FA CUP.
