Boreham Wood are delighted to announce that a record five players have made it into the England Colleges squad.
Cheyce Grant, Archie Pepper, Dan Creese, Alex Morgan and Iliman Ndiaye have all been called up to the squad following a successful second round of trials.
The club’s previous record was three players in the England Colleges squad, which has been achieved twice before.
The trials took place at Sheffield Hallam University on Sunday, November 12, where they all impressed the England Colleges bosses.
The five will be following in the footsteps of Sorba Thomas, Ben Goodliffe and Fred Burbidge, who all made the squad last year.
Grant, Pepper, Creese, Morgan and Ndiaye will now all join up with the rest of the team, on Wednesday, December 13 for a day’s training session.
The training will be hosted at the prestigious St George’s Park, the home of the English FA’s national football centre. They will all stay the night and then play against the Independent Schools FA the following day.
Boreham Wood’s Under 18s have been in excellent form so far, this campaign, winning all nine of their Southern Counties Floodlit League matches.
Head PASE Coach Cameron Mawer elated: “It is a record for the club, our previous best was three, so to get five in is a massive achievement and it is all down to the club’s philosophy.
“It is a really special group and I am delighted to get five players into the squad. The boys done really well on the day; each and every one of them done the club a lot of justice and made us all extremely proud.
“Without a doubt, it is a credit to the whole PASE Academy. Iliman joined us as a PASE boy and has progressed through to the elite and is now looking to push on into the first team as well, stories like that are amazing.
“Archie Pepper and Cheyce Grant joined us as first years as well and they have both done really, really well, I am just really, really pleased for all five of them.”
