Boreham Wood Football Club are offering all BWFC fans ‘FREE’ minibus travel to our Under 16’s Herts County Cup Final against Cheshunt on Sunday 10th April at the County Ground, Letchworth. Kick off is 10.30am and the minibus will leave at 9.30am. The bar will be open from 9am for supporters.
The Under 16’s have had a brilliant season to date; currently sitting top of the Eastern Junior Alliance, reaching the EJA Cup final, where they will meet Broxbourne Borough on Sunday 3rd April at Billericay Town, and of course reaching the Herts County Cup Final.
The youngsters have enjoyed an impressive win rate; winning 90% of their matches with 20 wins from 22 games so far this season. Scoring 126 goals and conceding just 12 goals.
In this years competition ‘Wood’ have already seen off Colney Heath, St. Albans City, Bishops Stortford, Hitchin Town, Baldock Town and Hoddesdon Town, and now a tie against current back-to-back County Cup reigning Champions Cheshunt awaits in the Final.
Under 16 Assistant Manager Charlie Hunter commented “It would be amazing for our young players, if as many of the ‘Wood Army’ could make the trip and support the boys. I’m sure when the lads walk out onto the pitch at the County Ground and if they were lucky enough to be met with the ‘We Are The Wood’ chants and got chance to see the Wood Army flags, it could perhaps banish the pre-match nerves and may make all the difference.
“The U16 boys have been superb this season and to now take on current County Cup Champions Cheshunt is a tall order. As such we could do with as much support and help as the Club and our supporters can generate.”
