During a charity bag pack at Tesco, Boreham Wood Football Club will be raising funds for the Mencap and Borehamwood Day Centre.

The charity bag packing will take place during Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, December 20-22and Boreham Wood FC would like to once again thank Tesco for their continued support and collaboration with us.

On hand to bag pack for the community of Borehamwood, will be our first team and staff, as well as the Club’s PASE Academy.

While there, we will be raising funds for local charities, including our friends at the Mencap and Borehamwood Day Centre.

As a community Football Club, we believe in inclusion for all and see our annual bag pack, as a fantastic opportunity to engage the whole of Borehamwood.

With players and staff from First Team to Academy level all involved, the bag packing is expected to be an enjoyable, and helpful, event in the community.

Both Mencap and the Day Centre are all-inclusive groups in Borehamwood and they run a variety of activities from sport, such as football, to arts and crafts days.

Boreham Wood Football Club have now been successfully working with Mencap and the Borehamwood Day Centre for over a year.

We have run a number of initiatives with the groups, one of which being against Blackpool, in our famous FA Cup victory, where the two groups were the flagbearers for the fixture.

The club run football training sessions with the two groups, coached by Mark McManus and First Team Coach Cameron Mawer.

The training focuses on improving the player’s overall ability as a footballer, whether that be tackling, shooting or dribbling.

Each session features a warm-up and a variety of technical drills, before finishing with a series of matches.
