Colney Heath FinalBoreham Woods talented U/18’s have once again retained the Southern Counties floodlit league and now go in search of more silverware. This season the league and cup double is still possible as they contest the final of the Brian Hitchins Cup.

They travel the short journey to local rivals Colney Heath’s ground this Thursday to play their Colney Heath U/18 equivalents and a close fought game is envisaged. Young Wood reached the final on Monday evening, when they comprehensively dispatched a highly rated Stotfold 5-0 in the semi final and as such go into the game in good form.

Two of our young midfield players Jack Vasey and Maxwell Holland are impressing first team Gaffer Ian Allinson so much, that they have already featured for “the Woods” first team this term and both played their part in our recent 1-0 win, at Conference South Champions Eastleigh on the last day of the senior teams season.

England TourWhile 18’s manager Luke Garrard’s will be happy as his team will be further strengthened by defender Harry Singh and the talented Jamie Lumsden, who have both returned from England College duty in Italy, fully fit and will also no doubt be in the starting line up.

If anyone’s needing a football fix, then all support for Woods youngsters really would be hugely appreciated. So if you can spare a few hours to cheer them on, please make a note, the cup final is at:
