Boreham Wood FC regretfully announce that the proposed staging of the pre-season game at Meadow Park between Brentford and Southend on Friday, 12th July has been postponed due to unforeseen Police and Stewarding costs.
After discussions with Brentford’s hierarchy, who requested the game as their pitch is still being prepared for next season. It was mutually agreed to stand the fixture down.
Brentford and Boreham Wood as football clubs have a very good relationship, that was forged after last seasons FA Cup encounter. That continues and Brentford will still bring their entire first team squad too play Ian Allinson’s Boreham Wood outfit at Meadow Park on Tuesday, 23rd July, kick
off 7:30pm.
Tickets are still available for that fixture and all our Home Pre Season games, through our Main Club Office during office hours Monday to Friday on 0208 953 5097 or alternatively from the BWFC Box Office via our Website.
BWFC would also like to add that we totally understand the Police stance on public safety and their decision that a Police presence was required for a fixture between two Football League Clubs.
Anybody who has already purchased tickets for the Brentford v Southend through the Boreham Wood Box Office, will receive a full refund.
