Woods under 19’s bounced back from last week’s disappointing National League final defeat on penalties against Dartford to bag a third National league cup final of an incredible season.

It was a comprehensive 3-0 win against Luton Town, and the boy can now focus on trying to achieve a National League and Cup treble.

After winning the ECFA National Cup, they followed that up by winning their divisional National League and, they have now reached another final this time against Maidstone United, which is to be played at Gander Green Lane (Sutton United FC)

This play off knock out format consisted of all 10 National League winners going into the draw and our U19s have beaten three league winners in AFC Halifax, AFC Hornchurch and Luton Town on route to this final.

The semi final against Luton was played in very wet conditions and young Wood managed to adapt quickly and play their high tempo football. The game was quite comfortable in the end and decided by three goals scored from Josh Coldicott-Stevens and a brace by Frank Keita.

In truth this was another fantastic performance by our talented young set of boys who continue to impress and the reward of another prestigious final now awaits them. Cameron Mawer the Under 19s manager spoke afterwards “This will be our fourth final of the season across the Academy and that`s great credit to the boys. If we can go on and complete the treble it would be something really special. We are under no illusions how hard a task it will be against a very good Maidstone side, but our aim was to become the Champions of Champions throughout of the country in the National league and we are now one game away from achieving it”
