On Saturday 28th July, ‘Wood’ travel to Biggleswade Town for their 6th pre season friendly, kick off 3.00pm.

This will be ‘Wood’s’ first pre season game of 2012 away from Meadow Park and against semi-professional opposition, having so far played an illustrious array of fixtures against West Ham United, Stevenage, Watford, Arsenal XI and Reading XI.

Having started pre season so brightly, recording 1-1 draws against West Ham, Stevenage and Watford, ‘Wood’ have tired against Premier League youngsters narrowly losing to an Arsenal XI 3-1 and a Reading XI 2-1 conceding late goals.

‘Wood’ Manager Ian Allinson is likely to give the younger players of his squad a chance to show what they can offer, whilst those who have racked up a lot of minutes against professional opposition are unlikely to play a full game but may feature.

‘The Waders’, who play apply their trade in the Evo-Stick Southern League Division One Central will provide a stern test having won 3 of their 4 pre season friendly games so far and will not give over easily as they look to impress in their showcase friendly.

‘Wood’ fans who would like to attend the game, the address is The Carlsberg Stadium, Langford Road, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, SG18 9JT. Admission prices for pre season friendlies are £5.00 for adults, no concessions but Under 16’s admitted for FREE when accompanied with a paying adult.

‘Wood’ then finalise their Pre Season line up hosting a full Barnet First Team at home on August 4th, followed by their final game away at Arlesey Town on August 11th before the season kicks off at home to Blue Square South Favourites Eastleigh on August 18th.
