On Saturday evening Boreham Wood FC held their annual Gala Dinner at the Village Hotel, Watford based in Centennial Park. With an attendance of 200 made up of Elite players, Senior players, Supporters, Staff, Parents, Sponsors and Councillors it was an evening enjoyed by all.

After Pre-drinks the room filled ready for the 3 course meal. After the meal Club Chairman Danny Hunter addressed the room and took the floor through the last 12 months. The last 12 months have seen the club grow and improve in all areas. The first team will finish in their highest ever league position. The Academy under the guidance of Cameron Mawer have exceeded all expectations and will end up finishing 2nd in the Suburban league. A side full of U19’s competing in a men’s league is an excellent achievement. The academy also find themselves in three cup finals and could make it the most successful season in the Academy’s history.

The Chairman also elaborated on the summer work that will take place. A brand new training facility will be built on the existing 3G site. There will also be a state of the art Desso pitch laid on the stadium pitch with a complete overhaul of the irrigation system.

We then moved onto the awards, and the winners all thoroughly deserved are listed below;

The night full of positively came to an end after club founder and club President Bill O’Neill gave a talk on his pride at what Chairman Danny Hunter has achieved during his tenure as Chairman. Taking the helm 18 seasons ago at a club that was struggling with little infa-structure to a club that has the biggest Academy in the UK and one of the best infa-structures in Non League Football.

More photos from the evening will be uploaded later on in the week.
