As Boreham Wood Football Clubs season enters its last week and with only an outside chance of reaching the play offs, the planning for an assault on promotion from the Conference South next season is already underway.

Manager Ian Allinson has begun putting together next year’s squad and stated “it looks like we will come up short this season but with a top 6 finish still on the cards and with an FA Cup 1st round appearance against Brentford achieved, it still shows the town we’ve made significant progress”.

Allinson went on to say “I’ve already sat down and discussed things with the Chairman, who has told me that on top of his plans to build the new West Stand that starts next month. He will bankroll the club within reason, so we can mount a promotion push and back me in improving the squad. His faith in myself and my assistant Luke Garrard, has allowed me to finalise a number of deals for players and it will allow me to talk with some future targets as soon as the season closes”.

“Of our existing players Luke Garrard, Charlie O’Loughlin, and Greg Morgan have already put pen to paper, while several more of the existing squad have all agreed deals with me and will quickly follow suite. I also have 4 or 5 summer targets I will pursue, that I’m confident I’ll get and will improve us and enough to seriously challenge”. He concluded.
