Cameron Mawer’s under 18s were held to a draw by Luton Cedars, in their first league match since winning the Southern Counties Floodlit League.

It is the first time this season, that Mawer’s side have failed to win a match in the Southern Counties Floodlit League.

The hosts had gone ahead against the young Wood, when a Cedars forward met a free kick and headed home.

On the back of a hat-trick for England Colleges, Dan Creese equalised shortly after half-time. He curled a sweet free kick into the ‘keepers bottom left corner.

Following the goal, the Wood began to take control of proceedings, with Iliman Ndiaye beating his marker on the wing and driving a low ball across goal, but Theo Costa was unable to reach the cross.

Ejike Akubude then shook off his man on the edge of the area, but powered his shot straight into the hands of the home stopper.

Jack Gibbs and Kai Wint both missed headers in the final 15 minutes, with the Cedars’ ‘keeper making an impressive save from Wint’s effort, while Gibbs’ sailed narrowly wide.
