Boreham Wood Under 19’s made it 10 wins from there last 10 games in the National League and cup with a comfortable 3-1 win against second placed Brightlingsea Regent, who came to Meadow Park having scored the most goals in the league to date.

The U19s on the back of beating top of the league Brentwood Town last week showed their strength and quality in a win that leaves them a point behind Brentwood having yet to play them in the league.

Alex Morgan will take all the plaudits with a goal and two assists, which did his chances no harm in front of the gaffer Luke Garrard, but Sorba Thomas  stole the show with his impressive direct play, matched by his silky skill to unsettle the defence. The other goals were scored by Bradley Sach and a first goal of the season for first year Archie Pepper

U19 coach Cameron Mawer commented shortly after the game “Brightlingsea were very good at what they do, they go back to front quickly and try to get on top of you with an aggressive manner but I was proud of the way the boys dealt with so many long balls, it was tin hat stuff at times but all credit to every boy who put a shift in ”

He added ” We now come into the home straight, having drawn Kidderminster Harriers in the quarter finals of the National League Cup, we can now prepare ourselves for what should be an exciting few months for the Academy”

Its a big end of season for the U19s,  as they push to win on three fronts the National League, the National League Cup and the ECFA National Cup, Which would complete a memorable and record breaking year for the Academy.
